A brief biography I was born and grew up in Sri Lanka - then headed for boarding school in England (at age eight….) but kept returning as much as I possibly could. I mention this so that you can understand my love for colour and everything Eastern. My heart is still in Sri Lanka and always will be.
I have been able to see a lot of our world. China, in particular, fascinates me. Everywhere you go, even in the big cities, there are still small areas which have remained the same over time. The people are friendly, if a bit timid, but once you master the ’smile’ everyone is charming. The countryside abounds with wonderful old buildings, which you can’t imagine have managed to stay up for so long. The ‘minority’ peoples in these old settlements wear the most wonderful clothes and some of the strangest hairstyles. As you can see, I’ve incorporated a lot of this in my work
My pictures try to impart the importance of all art, including the use of flora and fauna, and some of the meaning of it all in Chinese or Indian cultures - I suppose from a Western point of view
I am in such joy when a picture turns out the way I wanted it to. I feel like I have said something to other people about what it's like to see whole cultures just so integrated in everything around them. Anyone can see in my pictures the love of fabric, that I think comes from an innate love of the sari, the folds, the pleats, the colors, always wrapped with infinite care. I have tried to express this in my art, and only you can tell me if it has worked.
I mostly illustrate for children using bright colours.
I like to get kids involved in the picture which is usually full of very strange animals and insects etc.
I think kids drawings are far too simple at the moment and this is what I am trying to re-dress.
I have a very unique style of drawing and you would definitely recognise my work immediately.
I have done Political Cartoons and some Ads.
I love drawing and mostly use watercolour/ink. Sometimes just pencil.
I like my work unfortunately no-one else seems to because I am having difficulty trying to find work!
But thats not all ! Though I specialize in Illustration and graphic work, they are not my only talents, Photography is another string to my arc.

Along with my artistic touch, photography is a second nature and I love bringing out the best of things.
